Alexander Hillard was the son of Margaret Morrison (about 1760 - after 1840) and Guy H. Hillard (1753-1827).

The 1803 Tax List of Slippery Rock Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania shows him as being single and owning 100 acres. The North Eastern corner of Slippery Rock Township became Venango Township in 1804.

Alexander applied for and then received his Certificate of U.S. Citizenship on September 19, 1808 at the Butler County Courthouse. See photo which also has his brother, Guy Hillard, on the top line.

He married Sarah Dixon (1786-before 1857) sometime before 1806 in Pennsylvania.

• Catharine (1825-after 1850)

Alexander Hilliard's will (see photo), (H-109) on file in the Butler County Library, dated April 16, 1857 reads:

"In the Name of God amen Alexander Hilliard of the County of Butler in the State of Pennsylvania farmer Being weak in Body and of Sound Mind Memory and understanding but Considering the uncertainty of this transitory life Do Make and publish this my last will and Testament in manor and form (one word crossed out) following to Wit
1st. It is My will and I Do order that all Just Debts and funeral Expenses be Duly paid and Sattisfie as soon as Conventy Can be after My Decease.
2nd. I do will or I Give and bequeath to my grandson or Child Hermon Seaton one yoke of three year old oxen and one spring Calf and Likewise all my tools and farming youtenils that belong to me one bed and beds clothing
3rd. I do will and bequeath to My fourth daughter Martha Hilliard all of the Household furniture belonging to Me balance of bed and bedding belonging to Me and like wise two Cows.
4th. I Do will and bequeath to the rest of my Children or Heirs one Dollar Each.
5th. A? one Cow and one yoke of oxen to pay My funeral Expenses and Debts and if any thing Left or over is to go to Martha Childs and Lastly, I nominate Constitute Jacob Daubenspeck and Robert Miffin to be the Executors of this My Last Will and hereby hereby revoking all other wills Cyaues and bequeaths by Me heretofor made and Declaring this and no other to be my last will and testament

The executor, Jacob Daubenspeck, was the father of Henry Hoover Daubenspeck who married Nancy Kelly in 1868. Nancy Kelly was the sister of Richard A. Kelly who married Mary Jane Hillard, the daughter of our Jane (McMillan) and John Hillard in 1869.
