Ray Robertson, former bulk Standard (Oil) dealer in Durango, died unexpectedly this morning while vacationing in Denver.
Robertson and his wife were visiting their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Meryl Robertson in Englewood. He suffered an heart attack and died shortly after midnight at a Denver hosptal. He was 54.
News of the death was telephoned to the Dave McGraws, parents of Mrs. Meryl Robertson.
McGraw said that the Robertsons had been in Durango Sunday on their vacation trip prior to driving to Denver. They planned to return to their present home in Hobbs, N.M., where Robertson was manager of the Gulf bulk station for the Prather Oil Co.
Services for Ray Robertson, former Durango resident who, died in Denver Tuesday, will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Hood Mortuary chapel.
The Rev. Alfred Carlyon will officiate.
Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery, with Durango Lodge No. 46 AF & AM officiating.
Robertson is survived by his wife, Eloise, of the family home at Hobbs, N.M.; three sons, Meryl of Denver, Harold of the U.S. Air Force, and Gerald of Hobbs; a sister, Mrs. Fern Ashcraft of Matheson; and a brother, Jesse of Boise.
