At 73. Peacefully Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born in Joliet, and a lifelong Joliet/Crest Hill area resident. A proud alumni of Joliet Catholic High School. A U.S. Army Veteran stationed in Germany. Formerly employed by Brinks Locking Systems, and Folger-Adams Company.

Preceded in death by his son, Donald L. Wilda (1965); his parents, Richard and Amanda (nee Kettwig) Wilda; one sister, Elaine Dearie; four brothers, Richard "Earl", Paul, Norbert, and Donald Wilda.

Survived by his loving wife, Carol (nee Walentiny) Wilda of Crest Hill; two sons, Peter (Catherine) Wilda of Joliet, and Norbert "Bert" Wilda of Crest Hill; two sisters, Ida Nelson and Josephine (late Donald) Kinzler; three brothers, Bernard (Marie), Raymond (late Ginny) and Ralph (Barbara) Wilda; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

A Memorial Service for Lawrence G. Wilda will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. As it was Lawrence's final request, his body has been donated for the advancement of medical research. Final inurnment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the Joliet Lions Club or Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated. Visitation SATURDAY 1:00 p.m. until time of services at 4:00 p.m. at:
