Oscar Monroe Pittsinger of West Davenport, retired Illinois-Central Railroad clerk, died at 4 a.m. yesterday, January 11, at Kennedy Veterans Hospital where he had been a patient for about a month. He was 59.

Burial in National Cemetery.

Born in Water Valley, MS, Mr. Pittsinger came to Memphis 45 years ago. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Birdie Pittsinger; a son, Franklin D. Pittsinger; a stepson, Van Nichols; a stepdaughter, Mrs. J. T. Brown, all of Memphis; his mother, Mrs. Emma Pittsinger of Baltimore; two brothers, Ray Pittsinger and Franklin Pittsinger, both of Memphis, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Pruy and Mrs. Martha Justice, both of Crawfordsville.
