He married first, on Apr 29,1864 at Adams,MA, Susan Whitney. She was born about 1846 at Readsboro,VT, a daughter of Welcome Whitney and Ruth (Lake) Whitney. This marriage appears to have ended in divorce, as she died at Brattleboro,VT on Nov 16,1910, a wife of Augustus Barker(HERE?).

He married, second, by 1870, Harriet S Hicks. (Their son Ernest was born in 1869).
