Chapman, Leona Martha, one of eleven children born to Charles and Mary (Darwish) Taylor, was born on April 26, 1919 in Bloomington, Ill. She died Nov. 14, 2008 at the age of 89 years. Leona was playful at heart with a contagious laugh and sense of humor. She enjoyed life with her family and friends and valued the memories and moments with all. Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Jackson; daughter, Debra; four brothers and four sisters. She will be remembered and loved forever by her daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Tom Russell of York, Pa.; grandchildren, Matthew and Sara Russell of Hillsboro, Ore., Phillip Russell of McLean, Va.; sisters, Pauline Skaff and Elaine Otwell both of Wichita. Visitation 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; A celebration of life will follow at 1:30 p.m. both Monday at Old Mission Mortuary with final burial rites at Old Mission Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
