Mr. Magnusson, 525 W. Mahoney, was a member of the Alma First Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
He attended the old Stringtown School, now Alma School on Alma School Road in Mesa, which isn't there anymore.
He is survived by his wife, Christy Annie Stapley Magnusson, two sons Bernard F. of Phoenix and Ray Elmer of Mesa; daughters Odella Wright of Santa Fe Springs, Calif. and Grace Ringwood of La Mirada, Calif.; two brothers, James A. of Mesa and Ivan of Southgate, Calif. a sister, Mrs. Edith Griner of Mesa, 20 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Ray was preceded in death by a daughter Nedra Burns.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Meldrum Mortuary, 52 N. Macdonald, with Bishop Terry D. Lofgren of the Alma First LDS Ward officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
Burial will be in the Mesa Cemetery.
