Obituary from the Versailles Statesman, Versailles, Missouri:

"Mrs. B. F. Kennedy, wife of the pastor of the Versailles Baptist church passed away in St. Joseph's Hospital in Boonville early Monday morning after an illness of only four days. The shocking and sad news of her demise cast a cloud of gloom over the entire community, her passing being so sudden and unexpected. Mrs. Kennedy suffered from a malady in the nature of a boil on her face. She received attention at the hands of physicians but an infection set in, followed by pneumonia, which, in her weakened condition, she could not throw off. She became seriously ill on Thursday and was taken to the hospital Sunday afternoon, and all that human skill could do was done by the doctors in charge.

Mrs. Kennedy was an ardent church worker, of immeasurable assistance to her husband in his church duties, a splendid woman of retirement and education, one who will be missed in the home, the church and community. The Statesman joins the many friends of the family in extending sincerest sympathy in their bereavement.

Ada Allen Kennedy was born August 14th, 1889 in Ray County, Mo., and passed away January 21, 1935 in St. Joseph's Hospital, Boonville, after an illness of four days, aged 45 years, 5 months and 7 days. She was the daughter of Isaac and Lou Allen and lived in Ray and Clay counties until she was married to B. F. Kennedy June 15, 1910, to which union were born four children.

She joined the Baptist church at Liberty at an early age and was an active, faithful worker in the church until her death. She was a true christian, always doing her best to serve her Christ and those about her. She was a loving, loyal wife and a patient, kind mother.

Besides her husband, she leaves three daughters, Evelyn, Nannie Lou and Grace Margaret, a son, Abraham having preceded her at the age of three years. A step-daughter, Mrs. Charles Murray of St. Louis, her mother, Mrs. W. H. Barnes, a sister, Mrs. B. B. Bess of Sedalia and a host of friends throughout the state also mourn her departure.

Funeral services were held at the Versailles Baptist church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Wm. McGraw of California, and at Liberty, Mo., Wednesday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. D. H. Howerton, of Kansas City. Interment was made in Liberty cemetery."
