John Henry Crum aka Henry Crum is the son of Andrew and Mary B 'Haymaker' Crum. He married Margaret Ann Nunnanmaker on December 21, 1843 in Scott Co., IN. They had 2 children:Nancy F ‘Crum' Ewing and Andrew J Crum. Henry enlisted in the Mexican War on June 27, 1846 as infantry in Company "F" in Alton Illinois. He was discharged on May 28, 1847 on order of Brigadier General John E Wool. The company was mustered out on June 17, 1847 at Camargo, Mexico and returned to New Orleans.
