Elizabeth "Betty" Troup, 86, of 1034 Brock St., Ashland, passed away Saturday at Mount Carmel Nursing Center.
Born in Lavelle, July 27, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Jennie Shields Banning. She graduated from Ashland High School in 1939.
She was a member of Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, Ashland, and a member of the Christian Women's Association and a former 4-H Club member.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren, in 1990; two brothers, Lester and Russell Banning; a sister, Ruth Hummell.
Surviving are two sons, Randy Troup, Ashland, and John Troup, Sterling, Va.; a daughter, Kathry Harris, Warminster; a brother, Asher Banning, Lavelle; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at noon Friday in Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, Ashland, with the Rev. Daniel DeSchoolmeester officiaitng. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, and from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, 13th and Market streets, Ashland, PA 17291. Interment will be in Citizens Cemetery, Lavelle. www.kullfuneral.com.
