CYCLONE — Robert Dale Fisher departed this life Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2006, to join his devoted wife, at the age of 80 years, six months and 25 days, at his residence following a short illness.

Born July 20, 1929, in Logan County, he was the son of the late Virgil Arthur Fisher Sr. (1900-1982) and Dixie Mae Brown-Fisher (1908-1996).

Mr. Fisher was a retired carpenter, served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War and served in U.S. Air Force in Alaska. He was a member of Lacoma Baptist Church and will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Freda Toler-Fisher (1926-Deceased) whom he married on June 15, 1958 in Lacoma, Wyoming County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Wyoming County, WV, 1958, Page 338, Application Date: June 6, 1958); and a brother, Virgil Arthur Fisher Jr. (1927-Deceased).

Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Susan Fisher-Clark and her husband, Sam Clark, of Oceana; nieces and nephews, Becky Blankenship and her husband, Dave, of Oceana, Barry Lyndon Clark (1959-2008) of Oceana, Martha Fisher of Raleigh, N.C., Donna Ann Fisher of Florida and Terry Ann Fisher of Virginia; several great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

A celebration of Mr. Fisher's life will be 1 p.m. Friday at Adam Toler Memorial Chapel, Oceana, with the Rev. Brent Franco officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, with full military honors by the Wyoming County Honor Guards.
