Mr. O'Neall was born Sept. 1, 1918, in rural Cooksville, son of George M.C. and Millie Stoops O'Neall. He married Mildred Irene Smithson on Oct. 22, 1939, in rural Ellsworth at the home of the bride's parents. She survives in Normal.
Also surviving are their children, J. David (Nancy) O'Neall, Cooksville; Donald L. (Sharon) O'Neall, Downs; Elaine O. (Rick) Staples, Carlock; and Martin D. (Pam) O'Neall, Cooksville; eight grandchildren, Amy Nikolai, Julie Wilson, Nick O'Neall, Leanne West, Andrew O'Neall, Dan O'Neall, Matt O'Neall and Katie Eckeberger; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Donald G. O'Neall; and one sister, Georgia Reise.
John was affiliated with the Ellsworth United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Ellsworth school board. He had been a McLean County Farm Bureau member and member of the Prime Timers. He enjoyed camping, bowling and motorcycling.
