Agnes C. Farabaugh, 85, Maple Lane, Loretto, died Monday at her home.

She was born in Barr Township, Nicktown, daughter of the late Joseph and Bertha (Sherry) Nealen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin J., on Feb. 17, 1985; grandchildren: Anthony Farabaugh, Joseph McMullen and Agnes Farabaugh; great-granddaughter, Julia Glynn; son-in-law, Jack McMullen; and a brother, Richard.

She is survived by children: Mary McMullen of Ashville, Edward (Joan) of Loretto, Herbert (Lois) of Ebensburg, Thelma (Don) McNulty of Carrolltown, Cathy (Dan) O'Leary of Carrolltown, Daniel (Cathy) of Loretto and Carol (Mike) Lieb of Ebensburg; 52 grandchildren; 83 great-grandchildren; sisters: Lillian Thomas of Detroit; Joyce Westrick of Patton, Edna Westrick of Patton, Delores Palmer of Harrisburg and Helen Arnold of Arlington, Va.; a brother, Herman of Northern Cambria; and her loving caregiver, Joyce Eckenrode.

Agnes enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, infant great-grandchildren, gardening and embroidery. She was also known as the "Gladiolus Lady."

She was a member of Legion of Mary and The Basilica of St. Michael's the Archangel Catholic Church, Loretto, where a funeral Mass will be con-celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Malachi Van Tassel T.O.R. and Monsignor Timothy Swope celebrants. Committal at St. Michael Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Gibbons Funeral Home, Ashville, where a vigil service will be held Wednesday.
