Onetta Sutton, 88, of Irving, formerly of Hillsboro, passed away Monday morning, March 6, 2017, in a Dallas hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2017, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Mr. Bert Alexander officiating. Burial will follow at Milford Cemetery. Visitation will be from Noon-1:00 p.m. prior to service time.

Onetta was born July 31, 1928 in Milford to James Lois and Lera Loletta (Knott) Machen. On June 14, 1947, she and Chuck Sutton were united in marriage in Milford. For approximately 35 years, she worked in the financial business world.

She was a very active and faithful member of College Hill Church of Christ. Onetta and Chuck were active members in the Senior Circle. A loving mother and grandmother, she loved to cook and sew for her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, especially to Branson, attending musical venues, and camping and fishing with her husband and brother.

Preceding her in death were her parents and husband on November 7, 2004.

Survivors include her two children, Dianna Hopper and husband, James, of Irving and Tim Sutton and wife, Laura, of Denton; brother, Leland Machen of Milford; sister, Joye Hardaway and husband, Norbert, of Houston; five grandchildren, Jason Hopper and wife, Stephanie, of Plano, Carrie King and husband, Scott, of Dallas, and Lauren Vanderpool and husband, Lee, Abby Sutton, and Meredith Sutton, all of Denton; five great-grandchildren, Olivia King, Charlie King, Scout Vanderpool, Tony Hopper, and Collier Vanderpool; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
