"Death Calls Aged Mother of Mrs. S. M. Ainsworth.
Mrs. Eliza Basset mother of Mrs. S. M. Ainsworth of the Federal Fisheries Station, passed away last Friday afternoon, January 15, at the home of her daughter. . She was just past 94 years of age and had been in ill health for several years past; a bad cold and flu brought on complications, which were too severe for her lowered vitality, and the end came about 4 p.m.
Mrs. Bassett, who was a native of Ohio, was born November 4, 1842. She had made her home with her son-in-law and daughter at the Fisheries Station for nearly 11 years, during most of which time advancing age, and lately her condition of health, had kept her practically within doors. She came here from Montana. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Ainsworth; two grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. A son who spent two winters here, in 1929-30 and 1931-32, preceded her in death of five years ago.
Her's had been a life of great simplicity, and she so desired her burial rites, which were held bus at the Ainsworth home Tuesday afternoon, Reverend Arthur Campbell of the community Church conducting the services. Internment was made in the local cemetery."
