Eva Griffin

Eva Gunter Griffin, 84, of Brunswick peacefully went to be with the Lord Sunday afternoon (Nov. 16, 2008) at Hospice of the Golden Isles after a short illness. She was born in Pierce County to the late Allen J. and America Howell Gunter. Mrs. Griffin and her husband, Pleasant Quentin Griffin lived in Brunswick for many years until their retirement. They eventually moved to Waycross and lived for 10 years. In 2000 they moved back to Brunswick. Mrs. Griffin was a Homemaker and a longtime member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church and the Dorcas Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by five siblings, Lloyd, James, Idell, Ophelia and Avie; a son-in-law, Joe Conville.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Pleasant Quentin Griffin, Nahunta, three children, Gail Conville, Brunswick, Glenda Bradham and her husband Cesar, Oviedo, FL, Barry Griffin, Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren, Robyn Turch, Brunswick, Marisa Flannery and her husband, Earl, Oviedo, FL, Holly Wells and her husband Jeff, Oviedo, FL; six great-grandchildren, Christin Kinstle and her husband Clint, Springfield, GA, Candis Harrison, Brunswick, Joseph Harrison and his wife Kim, Brunswick, Hunter Turch, Brunswick, Paige Flannery, Conner Flannery and Ryan Wells all of Oviedo, FL; two great-great granddaughters, Natalie and Emily Kinstle, Springfield, GA; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday morning (Nov. 19, 2008) at 11:00 am at Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Brunswick. Burial will follow at 2 PM at Greenlawn Cemetery in Waycross.

The family will receive friends Wednesday morning from 10 until 11 am at the church.

Mr. Griffin and the family wishes to thank Hopice of the Golden Isles and Bayview Nursing Home for their loving care of their wife and mother.
