James Anthony Johnston, age 47, of East Scribner Ave., died Nov. 16 at his residence.

Born Nov. 2, 1961 in DuBois, PA he was a son of James N. and Dorothy J. (Kartavich) Johnston. His father preceded him in death on Jan. 27, 2005 and his mother survives.

He was a graduate of DuBois Central Catholic High School and Triangle Tech.

He was an assistant manager of the Kwik Fill in Punxsutawney and previous to that he was a dispatcher for both DuSan Ambulance and the City of DuBois Police Department.

He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, the Central District Volunteer Fireman's Association, a life member of the DuBois Volunteer Fire Departments Fourth Ward Hose Company and was also a member of the Goodwill Hose Co. #5. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed sports.

In addition to his mother he is also survived by two brothers: David J. Johnston of Punxsutawney and Michael B. Johnston of DuBois and one sister Deborah A. Fischer of Zelienople, PA.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation will be held on Nov. 18 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.

A Scriptural Wake Service will be held on Tuesday at 3 p.m. from the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Nov. 19 at 11 a.m. from St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Catherine Cemetery.
