Services for Imogene Allene "Gene" Reed, 83, of Ralls will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at the Ralls First Baptist Church with Rev. Floyd Haddock officiating. Burial will follow in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
Gene passed away Sunday, November 16, 2008 at Lubbock's Covenant Medical Center with her family by her side.

She was born May 8, 1925 in Wheelock, Texas to the late Reagan and Ethel (Payne) Winn. November 18, 1947 she married Norman Bryan "Beans" Reed in Fort Worth. He preceded her in death March 10, 2008.

A homemaker, Gene loved to travel and enjoyed visiting with people. She was a member of the Ralls First Baptist Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. Gene was also an active member of the Ralls Senior Citizens and the Red Hat Society. Gene was also active in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. She was the Crosby County Librarian, Ralls Branch for 30 years. She moved to Ralls in October of 1945 from Bryan, Texas.

Gene is survived by two sons and their wives, Bryan and Linda Reed of Anton and Hank and Deb Reed of Keller, a brother and his wife, Jack and Betty Winn of Mesa, Arizona, a sister Margaret O'Sullivan Hill of Baytown, five grandchildren, Robyn Jo Haston and husband Jim Bob of Anton, Amanda Kay Reed of Lubbock, Daniel Reed and Katie Reed both of Keller and Becky Reed of Justin, and three great grandchildren, Justin, Chelsea and Jordan Haston.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 PM to 7 PM at the funeral home.
