Burlington – John Willis Barney, Jr., 58 of 3717 Terrace Drive, died Friday at Duke Medical Center.
Memorial Service 3:30 p.m. today at Elon College Community Church, where he was a member, with the Dr. J. Earl Daniely and Dr. Alfred Hurst officiating. Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery.
Surviving are wife, Mrs. Gertrude Todd Barney; daughters, Miss Susan Barney of UNC-G, Mrs. Ellen B Williams of New York, N.Y., Mrs. Lynn B Denny of Greensboro; sisters, Miss Winifred Barney of Elon College, Mrs. Helen B. Smith of Winston-Salem, Mrs. Elizabeth Gray of Birmingham, Ala., Mrs. Elva Gace Lovette of Lillington; one grandchild.
