Margaret West Beavin
Margaret West Beavin, 87 of Hardinsburg, KY died Thursday November 6,2008 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital Extended Care Facility. Born in Breckinridge County on February 5, 1921, Margaret was a daughter of Coleman Philip West and Laura Hugh Watlington West. Prior to her retirement, Margaret worked as a Registered Nurse at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adrian Beavin, well known businessman and cattle farmer in both Breckiriridge County and the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Margaret and Adrian were nationally recognized as breeders of Registered Hereford Cattle. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, George West, Phil West and Hugh Norman West.
Mrs. Beavin is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Laurel and Gary Hawley of Lexington, KY and by a son, Philip (Sonny) Beavin of Hardinsburg. Also surviving are three grandsons, Jamie, Shane and Dane Beavin of Hardinsburg and two granddaughters, Tina Hawley of Marina del Rey, CA and Jennifer Hawley of Lexington, KY. A brother, John West of Cincinnati, OH and a sister, Emma Parks of Florence, KY also survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at 11:00 AM CST at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church with Father Maxwell Okello officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation from 2:30 - 8:00 PM CST and after 8:30 AM CST Tuesday at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg.
