Lucy Armstrong Gentry, 86, of Paris died at 10:40 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7, 1998, at McCuistion Regional Medical Center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at Forest Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Sparks and the Rev. James Williamson officiating. Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home will make burial in Forest Chapel Cemetery. The body will lie at the church for one hour prior to the service. Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Gentry was born June 5, 1912, in Springhill community to Robert and Rena McCann Armstrong. She attended Chicota schools and was a homemaker. She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church in Paris.
Surviving are a daughter, Paula McLerran and husband, Hub of Paris, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Cecil Edwin Gentry; twins, Donny and Minnie Gentry; four brothers, Joe, Robert, Ned and Richard Armstrong; a sister, Ludie Sparks; three half-brothers, Jack Armstrong, Arch Jackman and John Robert Jackman, and by four half-sisters, Ona Orr, Livie Towers, Annie Mae Francis, and Mary King.
Pallbearers will be Gerald Armstrong, Gene Sparks, Jerry Sparks, Reavis Wortham, Ed Armstrong and Roger Armstrong.
