Lois L. Baxter

STAMFORD, Neb. -- Lois L. Baxter, 79, Stamford, died Wednesday, July 1, 1998, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Kearney.

Mrs. Baxter was born Lois L. Brooks on Nov. 24, 1918, at Clayton, Kan., and was a resident of Holdrege and Texas before moving to Stamford in 1988. She was a member of Clayton E.U.B., Eagles Auxiliary, Holdrege, and Friendly Sisters Club, Stamford.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Douglas Arnold in 1972; a son, Clinton Ray Arnold; and two grandsons.

Survivors include her husband, Bernard of the home; two daughters, Lee Mapes of Norton, Kan., and Lydia Houk of Loveland, Colo.; four stepsons, John Baxter of Arapahoe, Warren Baxter of Orleans, Steve Baxter of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Rodney Baxter of Tulsa, Okla.; four grandchildren; 16 step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Enfield Funeral Home, Norton, Pastor Lew VanDerWege officiating. Burial will be in Clayton Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Hospital.

Visitation will be from 1:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 215 W. Main, Norton, Kan 67654.
