Earl D. Russell, age 93, of Whitney, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016.
A funeral will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2016 at the Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with a visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Earl was born March 19, 1923 in Lampasas County, Texas, the son of Walter H. and Alma (Archie) Russell. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and worked for General Tire for many years. He was formerly a member of China Spring First Baptist Church and was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Whitney.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Ruby Russell; brother, Dennis Russell; sister, Louise Russell; brothers in law, Joe V. Terral and Troy Terral, stepson, Scott Burney.
Earl is survived by his wife, Elise Burney Russell; daughters, Patti Russell Ridley and husband, Dennis and Judy Kerr and husband, Jerry; stepchildren, Shaunda Burney Wolfe, Roger Burney and Nickey Burney; grandchildren, Samantha Rohde and husband, John, Kristi Reynolds and husband, Nicholas, Justice Kerr and wife, Mandy; great grandchildren, Caden Kerr, Sophie Kerr and Addy Kerr; one niece, six nephews and other family members.
