William (named for the governer of TN) is the youngest child of: John Young (born in Ireland) and Mrs. Adkins Young. His siblings are: Alexander 1803, Robert 1806, James 1812, Edna Catherine 1813, Jane 1815, Thomas K. 1816 and Peter "Barney" 1819. William also has three half siblings: Mary Polly Kennedy 1785, Elizabeth McDaniel 1787 and John Jr. William married Sarah Jane Rhea 01/08/1842 in TN. Their children are: Mary 1843 TN, Nancy 1845 TN, W. James 1847 TN, Reese Porter 1849 TN, Sarah Ann Stever and Martha A. Skidmore 1850 TN, John Henry 1853 TN and Leroy A. 1863 MO. William's family emigrated to Missouri from Tennessee in 1853 along with his brothers, Thomas and Peter. William's family settled at Beach and Peter's family at Northview in Webster Co. Thomas went on to Bear Creek in Cedar Co. near his half-sister, Mary Polly Young Kennedy whose family had emigrated 20 years earlier.
