Harvey Washington Shrlner, son of Silas and Susan Shrlner, was born in Vinton county, Ohio, October 25th, 1861.

Mr. Shriner received his primary education In the Flora Public Schools, then attended college at Carmi, Illinois, and Lebanon, Ohio, making splendid records in scholarship in
both colleges.

He taught school six winters while he was doing his preliminary study In law.

In 1888 he was elected State's Attorney, re-elected in 1892. Won a third term over W. H. Dillman.

In 1904 he was elected to the State Legislature, serving one term.

During the World War he was a member of the District Exemption Board, Division No. 2, Eastern Distrlct of Illinois.

Mr. Shriner was happily married in September 1885 to Miss Emma Critchlow ot Louisville, Illinois. To this union were born three sons.

In February 1924, he was stricken with paralysis, from which he partly recovered and continued in bis profession until the following November, when he had another stroke from which he continued to fail until the end. Everything that medical skill and loving care could do were rendered him to no avail. He passed from this life at 1:10 a. m., August 12th, 1925.

Funeral services were conducted from the First Christian church in Flora, Illinois, on August 13th, 1925, with burial In Elmwood cemetery.
