He was born in Mansfield Township and had spent all of his life in Warren County. He owned a store at Port Murray for a number of years, until he sold out to his brother Samuel.
He is survived by his wife, Carrie Winters, a daughter Mrs. Norman Smith and another brother, Harvey of Leominster, Mass. and one sister, Mrs. John Winters of Washington.
He was a member of the Mansfield Baptist Church and served a number of years as deacon and as a Sunday School teacher. he was also a member of the Junior O.H.A.M.
