Hazel Casey was born to Beulah Belle (Hancock) Brackeen Casey and Henry Gibson Casey. She was a Sister to Henry Gibson Casey, Jr. and a half-sister to Myrtle Elizabeth (Brackeen) White and James Thelbert Lee Brackeen, all preceding her in death. She married Oscar Jennings Howard and she gave him three sons: Oscar Jennings Howard, Jr."Sonny", James Douglas and Gerald "Jerry" Howard. Jerry Howard survives her.
