She was born Nov. 15, 1874 in Salt Lake City, daughter of Abraham and Fredericka Olander. She was married Oct. 18, 1898 to Hyrum Severson who later was head of the Federal Land Bank for many years. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City temple in 1906. The couple came to Idaho in 1904, when Severson purchased a farm and ranch near Rigby which he owned at the time of his death, September 17, 1951. Mrs. Severson still owned the ranch at the time of her death. Mrs. Severson was active in the LDS Church for many years, both in the Primary and in the Relief Society. Mr. Severson was a prominent water leader, being one of the original proponents of the Palisades Dam and identified with reclamation in this region.
Surviving are the following sons and daughters; Mrs. Elva Watts, Idaho Falls; H. Raymond Severson, Oakley, Idaho; Mrs. Ethyl Stoddard, Lincoln; Mrs. Alice Taylor, Grant; Mrs. Norma Weber, Grant; Mrs. Geneva Crossley, Rigby. also surviving are 23 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Two sets of twins, the first children of the union died in infancy. a great-grandson was killed in the service during World War II.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Garfield Ward Chapel with a member of the ward bishopric officiating. Burial will be in the Central Cemetery at Grant. Friends may call at the family home Monday from 10 a.m. until time for services. Prior to that time they may call at the Wood Funeral Home in Idaho Falls.
