Norma Ann Dudley, a homemaker and member of Columbia Presbyterian Church, died Saturday, July 17, 2004, in Vancouver. She was 82.
Mrs. Dudley, whose maiden name was Craig, was born Dec. 24, 1921, in Newburgh, N.Y., and moved to Vancouver with her family in 1925.
She graduated from Vancouver High School in 1940, and earned an associate of arts degree in home economics, with a specialty in clothing, from Iowa State College in 1942.
She worked as a secretary at the Vancouver shipyards from 1942 to 1943, when she enlisted in the Women's Army Air Corps. By the time she was discharged in 1945, she had attained the rank of corporal.
She married her husband, William R. Dudley, on May 24, 1947, in Vancouver. She worked as an instructor at Stretch and Sew Fabrics from 1974 until 1979, and was an active member of PEO, Sigma Kappa Alums and the Vancouver Barracks Officers Wives Club.
Her husband died in March 2003.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Ann Timm of Whidbey Island; three sons, William C. and Thomas R., both of Vancouver, and Robert J. of Missoula, Mont.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will begin at noon Monday, Aug. 2, at Columbia Presbyterian Church. Private burial will be in Vancouver Barracks Post Cemetery. Hamilton-Mylan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
