Chico Enterprise, Wednesday, January 30, 1929: Funeral Held For War Veteran. Funeral services for Charles O. Anderson, 50, a native of Texas and a resident of Chico for the last 24 years, who died Saturday in the Letterman General Hospital at San Francisco, where he had been for only two days, were held at 2:30 this afternoon in the chapel of the Bicknell & Moore funeral home, the Rev. N.A. Christensen officiating.
Burial was in the Dayton cemetery. Anderson was a Spanish-American War veteran and a member of the local lodge of Fraternal Brotherhood. Both organizations were in attendance at the funeral, the J.J. Cahill post officiating at graveside services.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Ollie May Anderson; the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Anderson of Chico; the following sons and daughters; Mrs. Hazel Ollivier of Yakima, Wash.; Miss Opal Anderson of Chico, and John Anderson and Harry Anderson of Chico; one brother, Everett Anderson of Chico; one sister, Mrs. Hattie Lewis of Seattle, and two half-sisters, Mrs. Charles Cunningham of Dayton and Mrs. Nellie Scott of Centralia, Ill.
