Bill moved on from the Temple, Texas area to Abilene, Taylor Co., TX where he met and married Addie Lee Logan on 5 Aug 1911. Together they had 11 children (8 boys and 3 girls) which including at least 3 sets of twins. Bill was a large man but his wife was petite standing less than 5 feet tall. All eight of the boys exceeded six feet in height while the girls were petite like their mother.
At the time of his death, Bill was the senior partner in a trucking company with junior partner, E.L. Thornton. At this time, Mr. Thornton was building his West Texas retail empire which included department and grocery stores.
