Leroy Bailey, 73, of 513 Daugherty, died at 4:10 p.m. Monday at Bartholomew County Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Ford Bailey.
Funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Dennis Shufelt at 2 p.m. Thursday at Barkes, Inlow and Weaver Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike. Calling hours will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
Bailey was bom March 16, 1911, in Indiana, the son of Lora and Montie Cook Bailey. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Additional survivors include six sons, William V. Bailey of 8941 E. Hillcrest, Larry W. Bailey of 5794 W. Indiana 46, Edward L. Bailey of 235 Huffman, Randall R. Bailey of 611 Garden, Norman L. Bailey of Scipio, and Gilbert D. Bailey of Shelbyville; five daughters, Donna K. Richey of 5896 W. Indiana 46, Carolyn J. Hamm of 9250 E. Road 500N, Patricia L. McInteer of 669 Collier, Loretta M. Matern 5085 S. Road 500W, and Pamela S. Scroghan of 2094 W. Shady; a half brother, Paul E. Joslin of Franklin; a half sister, Blanch Eliert of Indianapolis; 28 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
