Actress. She was forced to exile during Spanish Civil war and she then moved to Buenos Aires where she developed a prolific career on Argentinian stage and cinema. Amalia was a member of the stage company Xirgú-Borràs. On Argentinian stage she appeared in "La Serrana de Ronda," "La Dama del Alba," "Los Árboles Mueren de Pie" and "La Llave en el Desván." Her many films include "Bodas de Sangre" (1938), "La Dama Duende" (1944), "Mundo Extraño" (1950), "La Telaraña" (1954) and "Tierra de Nuestros Mayores" (1960). She was the Grandmother of the television personality Emilio Ariño. She was known as "La Abuela Argentina", in fact she debuted as the old woman in the play "El Abuelo" by Benito Pérez Galdós at the age of 18. Her obituary say that she died at 79 years old, fixing her birthyear in 1889. Other sources say he died at 85 years old.
