Miss Sallie Groves died Saturday night after a lingering illness. Oldest daughter of Mayor and Mrs. J. R. Groves of this city. Funeral services were held at the residence Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. W. W. Moss, after which interment was had in Faulkenberry cemetery. Miss Sallie had been a sufferer for a number of years, but bore her affliction with Christian fortitude, never complaining of the shadow that hung over her. About two weeks ago a sudden change took place in her condition, which bereft her of reason, and from that time on it was known that the end was near. She was a consecrated Christian of several years standing, being a member of the Christian Church at this place, and when her health would permit, never missed a service at her church. Her bereaved parents, brothers and sisters can find consolation in the thought that she was in possession of all the Christian virtues, and that the example of her life will live to be emulated by others.
