Was One Of The Oldest Residents Of Star Valley
Robert Anglesey was born in Brigham City, Utah May 8m 1877. He lived in that town until he was twelve years of age. With his parents he moved to Star Valley in 1888, and resided in Afton since that date. Most of his life was spent on the place taken up by his father just below town. About three years ago he commenced the shoe repairing business in Afton, having had some previous experience and has worked at that trade until his death. about a week ago he was taken ill with the quinsy and closed his shop rather early last Friday on account of not feeling well. His condition continued to grow worse until Monday, morning at 7:30 when he had a choking spell and did not rally, death calamining him a few minuter later.
He leaves a wife and eight children, three of whom are married, and one brother to mourn his loss. He has been an active member in the community all his life, and besides being a faithful church member, was always beloved and trusted by his acquaintances for his honesty and integrity.
His funeral was held Wednesday in the South Ward Chapel at 2:00 o'clock. the speakers at the funeral were Brother Thomas H. Wilde, Bishop Otto Harrison of Osmond, Thomas Walton and Bed Nield, all of whom spoke in the highest terms of his honest and upright character.
As a mark of respect all of the business houses in Afton closed during the funeral.
