Virginia Lee Lesser, LDS ID LDFX-D6D, was the daughter of Mary Lee Summerrow and Bertrand LeRoy Lesser.

She married first in Raleigh, Wake Co., North Carolina, July 18, 1942, James Francis Dugan (1910-1949), son of Helena Mary Venini and William Albert Dugan. They had two children.

She married second in Morehead City, Carteret Co., NC, October 7, 1951, William Ford Adams (1923-1984), son of Sarah Elizabeth Gillikin and Macajah Adams; later divorced.

She married third in Goldsboro, Wayne Co., NC, July 1, 1967, John Arthur Fenton (1921-2003).

Virginia graduated from Southern Pines (NC) High School in 1939. She attended Woman's College (now UNCG) in Greensboro, NC, and Anderson College in Anderson, SC.

She had worked as a Legal Secretary, Notary Public, Secretary to the Wayne County (NC) Clerk of Court, and as a Secretary for the Wayne County School System, before becoming a ceramics instructor and opening her own ceramic shop first in Goldsboro, NC, and later in Orangeburg, SC.
