Harlan Riggs, 76 of Bagley, died on Thursday, February 19, 2004 at the Garden Place Living Center near Bagley.
Harlan was born September 27, 1927 at Bayard, Kansas, the son of Clarence and Ruth (McCoy) Riggs. He graduated from Laharpe High School in Laharpe, Kansas, in 1945.
He married Eva Neptune on March 19, 1951, in Laharpe. They moved to Shevlin in 1959, where Harlan farmed and worked at Willborg's Auto Salvage. He later worked for Everhart, now Marty Brothers Feed Store, retiring in 1999.
Harlan and Eva were divorced. Harlan married Emilie Wagner on August 16, 1987, and she died on March 6, 2000. On April 7, 2001, he married Lillian Anderson and moved to Clearbrook. In 2002 he moved to the Garden Place.
He is survived by his wife Lillian, of the Garden Place; three daughters, Rebecca (Brad) Holmes of Columbia Heights, Minnesota, Cindy (Jim) Choc of Lengby, Elizabeth Riggs of Denver, Colorado; three sons, Dennis (Sheryl) Riggs of Alida, Larry (Tressa) Riggs of Shevlin, James Riggs of Fosston; two step sons, Russel Anderson of Los Angeles, California, Ross Anderson of Warroad, Minnesota; two step daughters, Rebecca Sundquist of Bemidji, and Rachel Marty of Warroad, Minnesota; seven grandchildren; nine step grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Ruddle of Iola, Kansas, and Faye Rogers of Mesa, Arizona; one brother, Bryan Riggs of Chappell, Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by by his wife Emilie, and daughter Dianna Lynn.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 23, at 10:30 a.m. at the Elim Brethren Lutheran Church in Clearbrook, with the Rev. Richard Walvatne officiating. Interment was at the Landstad Lutheran Cemetery in Shevlin.
The Cease Family Funeral Home in Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.
