Oliver W. Eastburn was born in New Castle County, Delaware. He moved his family to Spotsylvania County in 1866 and purchased Mrs. Marlsberger's farm. The farm was named Hazelwood. Since there was another farm in Virginia known as Hazelwood, it was later renamed Hazelwild. Oliver's daughter Lillian and her husband George Huston Morrison Sr. purchased the farm from Oliver's estate. The farm is mostly intact and was turned into an educational foundation by Oliver's granddaughter A. Elizabeth "Aunt Sissy" Morrison.
