L. Marguerite Croslow Kerns, age 95 of Bridgeport, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Aperion Care of Bridgeport.
She was born August 30, 1920 in Lawrence County to Luther and Nora (Richardson) Selby.
Beyond devoting her time to her family as a homemaker, she was also a member of the Free Methodist Church of Bridgeport, a member of the former Women's Club of Bridgeport. Marguerite had worked at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital as an Emergency Room Aide and also as a Ward secretary. She had also worked as a receptionist in the office of Dr. Tom Kirkwood.
Surviving family includes: six children- Ronnie Croslow and wife Myra of Lawrenceville, John K. Croslow of Bridgeport, Jerry Croslow and his wife Phyllis of Bridgeport, Rick Croslow and his wife Cheryl of Bridgeport, Jack Croslow and his wife Brenda of Lawrenceville, and Sheila Roush of Bridgeport: twenty grandchildren: thirty-two great-grandchildren: and fifteen great-great-grandchildren.
Marguerite was preceded in death by: her parents- Luther and Nora Selby: her first husband and the father of her children- John L. Croslow: three children- Gene, Steve, and Sandra Jane (in infancy): two step-children- Web and Mickey Croslow: and seven siblings.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8. 2016 at the Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at the Bridgeport City Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Free Methodist Church of Bridgeport or to Fish and Loaves.
