Enoch-Charles Curtis Bacon age 93 passed away peacefully at home on October 8, 2008. He was born to Gay Bacon and Rosa Ellen Costner on September 26, 1915, in Patterson, Missouri. He was the last of his family line. Charles served in the Navy for two tours of duty from 1934-1940 and again from 1950­-1953. He worked 37 years for the US government as a quality control officer and contract administrator. Charles married his sweetheart, Joan Parker, whom he met while serving his country. They were married on November 29, 1936, in San Pedro, California. Charles, Joan, and their daughter, Shirley, joined the LDS church in Glendale, California in 1966. Their son, Charles Gay and his family joined the church earlier while living in Ogden, Utah. They were sealed as an eternal family a year later in the Los Angeles Temple. Charles Gay Preceded his father in death in 1992. Charles was a faithful and devoted member of his church. Charles is survived by his wife of 71 years, daughter Shirley Ann (Jerry) Jensen, daughter-in-law, Jill Visnak Bacon, 9 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. Two grandchildren proceeded in death. Services will be held Thursday, October 16, 2008, in the Enoch 4th Ward Building at 1390 E. Midvalley Rd, Enoch, at 11:00 AM. Viewing will be from 9:30 - 10:30 AM at the church prior to the service. Interment will be in the Enoch City Cemetery.
