Roy Pirtle, 61 [sic], of 905 N. Fifteenth St., died at 8:05 a.m., June 29, 1953, on arrival at St. John's hospital.

Mr. Pirtle collasped at his home.

Mr. Pirtle was employed as a barber by Robinson Brothers at their 128 N. Sixth St. shop for about nine years until about one year ago.

He was a member of the Third Presbyterian church and the Barbers union local 1.

He was a veteran of World War I.

Surviving are his wife, Ada; stepfather, J. Abbott, of Grand Chain; one daughter, Judith Elaine, of Springfield; one stepsister, Mrs. Frances Billingsley, of Hillsboro; and two half-sisters, Mrs. Ruby Cutler, of Carbondal; and Miss Ruth Abbott, of Grand Chain.

Remains were removed to the Bisch Memorial home where services were held.

Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery.

The V.F.W. conducted graveside services.
