Dewey was the son of Robert Matthew MAY & Olivia Catherine DUNN MAY. He married (1) Willie Mae MCMULLIN on 04 Sep 1923 in Caldwell Parish LA, and (2) Tillie EWING on 04 Jul 1936 in Caldwell Parish LA. He and Willie Mae had two sons.

Columbia (Special) - Dewey M. May, 59, of Grayson, died about midnight Sunday after a short illness at a local hospital. He was a timber contractor.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Old Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Peek officiating, assisted by the Rev. J. T. Garrett. Interment will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be G. E. Rogers, Buddy Erskine, C. C. Dunn, Z. M. Mouser, David Gartman, Marvin Algier, Dural Culpepper, and Jim Sherman.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Tilly May of Grayson; a son, Ralph M. May of Monroe; four brothers, Hollie May of Grayson; Garland May of Monroe; Clyde May of Tallulah, and Hunter May of St. Joseph.
