Grant was the 6th of 8 children born on the family farm near Lenore, Manitoba. His parents were George Frame and Jeannie Grant whose parents were early pioneers in the area. His siblings were: Annie, Weir, Jean, Grace, Gladys, Evelyn & Jack. Grant went to school in the village of Lenore where the family kept a home during the winter. He married Kathleen ("K") Kelly in Winnipeg on December 21, 1929 and they farmed for several years on his Dad's farm before moving first to Darlingford and then to Holland, Manitoba. The two sons, George and Jack, considered Holland to be their hometown. Grant ran the garage in Holland before moving to Winnipeg in the early 1950's when George moved there for university. Prior to his death, Grant worked for Triangle Auto Stores.
Grant was liked by everyone and was well known for his wonderful sense of humour. Many stories of his are told to this day so many years after his death. Unfortunately, Grant was stricken with liver cancer and died at the early age of 55 years. He will always be missed and never forgotten!
