Anton Ellis Zikmund came into Malheur County, in about 1937, with his first wife, Loila May [Fuller] Zickmund. This was the surname spelling that was used at that time. It was the spelling used by some member of his birth family. Shortly most members dropped the 'c' and it became Americanized, to Zikmund. Anton also changed the spelling of his surname.
