TOULON -- Lillian Briggs, 90, formerly of Chillicothe, died at 10:32 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at Toulon Health Care Center in Toulon.

Born June 29, 1908, in Kewanee to Elmer and Bessie Clark Loring, she married Clarence Buskirk in 1927 in Kewanee. He died in 1956. She married George Briggs in 1969 in Elmwood. He died in 1976. One son, Charles Buskirk, and one grandson also preceded her in death.

Surviving are three daughters, Audrey Read of Park Forest, Beverly Thieben of Chillicothe and Ruth Byrns of Phoenix, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She worked at Caterpillar Inc. in East Peoria as a welder's helper for 23 1/2 years. She was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star in Elmwood and a member of Elmwood United Methodist Church.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Stringtown Cemetery in rural Duncan. The Rev. Paul Wier will officiate. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are by Wyoming Funeral Home in Wyoming.
