Aged 83y. Came to Springfield in 1865 with his father Absalom, where he was engaged in mercantile business for many years. He later moved to Quincy where he remained until his death. He was survived by his wife, one daughter, one son Charles of Quincy, and one son of Chattanooga, TN, his brother D. G. Kalb of Sangamon County, IL.
