Funeral services for Gary Lee Fenton, 87, of Nacogdoches will be 3:00 pm Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Dickie Allen Funeral Home in Cushing with Jerry Jones officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 – 3:00 pm one hour prior to the funeral. Gary Lee Fenton passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022, in Nacogdoches with his family by his side. Gary was born in Cushing, Texas to Burtis Fenton and Lois Wade on September 16, 1934.

Gary moved from Cushing, TX to Baytown, TX and began working at a very early age. He started a paint & body shop business and upon retirement moved back to his East Texas roots. He took great pride in his work and was a hard worker. One of his great pleasures was fishing from his boat that he named after his first grandchild, Sabrina.

In past years he enjoyed teaching both his great grandsons about fishing in his two big ponds making cherished memories. Gary had an extraordinary ability to make and repair items. He enjoyed taking trips to Louisiana for a little gambling

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Billie Jean Fenton., and his son, Gary Lee Fenton Jr, and brother, Jerry Fenton. Gary is survived by his wife, Lavada Fenton of Nacogdoches. Father to his only daughter, Pam Schwertner and husband Dan of Santa Fe, TX. Grandfather to two children Stacy Schwertner and Sabrina Schwertner with two great grandsons, Pierce Austin and Garrison Lee Schwertner of Santa Fe, TX.

Survivors also include bonus children Mike Adams and wife Cyndi, Joyce Ady and husband Terry, Karen Ballow and husband James, Paula Gill and husband David. Ten bonus grandchildren and 10 bonus great grandchildren, all of which loved him very much. The family would like to give a special thank you to Affinity Hospice for your love care and support.

Pallbearers will be Pierce Schwertner, Stacy Schwertner, Mike Adams, Stephen Fenton, Terry Ady Sr., and James Ballow.

Honorary Pallbearers are Garrison Schwertner and Dan Schwertner.
