SWAINSBORO, Ga., Nov. 12---Joseph Preston Tyson died at his residence near Meeks today after an illness of several months. He was 51 years old and a native of Johnson County and the son of Aaron Tyson, a native of Washington County and the late Margaret Hall Tyson, who was a native of Johnson County.
Surviving are his wife, the former Ruby Nobles and one son, Joseph Preston Tyson Jr.; his father, Aaron Tyson of Belton, SC; three sisters, Mrs. C. G. Plunkett of Macon, Mrs. Mrs. Felton Hutcheson of Kite, and Mrs. Glenn Taylor of Columbus; two brothers, Ernest Tyson of Warner Robins and Quitman Tyson of the Air Force in Bermuda.
Services will be held at 3pm Sunday from the Corinth Methodist Church near Adrian with Elder S. M. Claxton and Elder Rollie Riner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Rastus Mimbs, Brooks Hutcheson, Lamar Shepard, M. C. Tyson, John Henry Grant, and W. C. Tyson. Swainsboro Mortuary is in charge of Funeral arrangements.
