The Sidney Herald, Sidney, Montana: October 31, 1919

The community was shocked upon learning of the death of Nels Bensen (Niels Bentsen) which occurred at this Brorson home. Mr. Bensen had been complaining for the past several months but not until about two weeks ago was his condition of a serious nature when he was compelled to take to his bed. From then on until the end he fought a losing battle against great odds and everything within human power was done to save him but without avail. Mr. Bensen moved to Brorson about 10 years ago from Kenmare, N.D., and took up a homestead there which he hast thoroughly developed until today it is one of the best farms on the Brorson flats, due to his unyielding and untiring efforts. He was a man of excellent qualifications, always of a genial disposition and with a good word for everybody. His home life was most exemplary and not only will he be missed by those nearest to him but by innumerable friends. The funeral will be held today at the home and services will also be held in the Brorson church after which the remains will be entered in the Brorson cemetery. Besides a loving wife, five children, four sons and a daughter are left to mourn his loss. They are Mrs. Lawrence Peterson, Arthur, Gerhardt, Alvin and Harold. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of all in their great loss.
