Goldfield, Nev., Jan 7 - Samuel Archer, aged 93 years, died at the home of his daughter, J. J. Noone here Thursday afternoon. Mr. Archer followed mining as a means of livelihood . He held the position of superintendent of the famous Treadwell-Yukon mine in Alaska for several years and was also the discoverer of many profitable methods of recovering ore. He had made his home in Downieville, Cal. the past few years and came to Goldfield in early December to make his home with his daughter and her husband.

He is survived my two sons, William Archer of Marshfield, Ore., and Neil Archer of South Fork, Cal., and two daughters, Mrs. Will Cavanagh, of Flin Fon, Canada and Mrs. J. J. Noone of Goldfield.
